Remove Multisite/Network Feature WordPress
Generally people are looking to create network feature in WordPress instructions. I had one blog with multisite feature and recently I moved it to single site form multisite. Remove multisite feature, remove network feature of WordPress is easy with this article.
If you want to remove multisite feature, remove Network feature of WordPress than here are easy steps to get it done.
Note: Most Important is take a backup of your files and Database. All recommend this but I am not. Because I am sure once you follow below steps properly, it will work surely. If you dont have confidence on yourself than take a backup. :) 1. Open wp-config.php from your root directory. Remove below code. define( 'MULTISITE', true ); define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false ); $base = '/'; define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'localhost' ); define( 'PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/' ); define( 'SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1 ); define( 'BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1 ); 2. Delete your .htaccess from root directory and visit wp-admin/options-permalink.php. Don't worry. It will be auto generated once you visit above page. 3. Remove Extra fields from wp_user table and extra tables. Simple execute below sql query. ALTER TABLE `wp_users` DROP `spam`, DROP `deleted`; DROP TABLE `wp_blogs`, `wp_blog_versions`, `wp_registration_log`, `wp_signups`, `wp_site`, `wp_sitemeta`; If you can find this table `wp_sitecategories` than DROP it. 4. Most Important. Put define('MULTISITE', false); line in wp-config.php file. 5. Yeppi.. You are now in default single site WordPress Installation.
